Contemporary, traditional merge

The contemporary look of Optima Old Orchard Woods blends with even the most traditional preferences in furniture and accessories.

This is demonstrated in a new three-bedroom model condominium that on display in Elm Tower in the condominium community in Skokie, overlooking Harms Woods Forest Preserve.

The model features decor by Ellen Duffy, Ann Hooe and Vicky McHugh of Avenue Interiors, a Northfield-based design firm. The new model will give buyers who have cherished traditional pieces of furniture a good idea of how various styles can be combined for a high-style eclectic look.

"This community has been designed to provide residents with every comfort and convenience as well as a close connection with nature. The elegant simplicity of the architecture lends itself to each resident's personal expression in decorating taste," said David Hovey, president of Optima Inc., the developer.

The new model is located on the 16th floor and features 1,654 square feet of space with three large bedrooms, two full baths, great room with floor-to-ceiling windows and access to a terrace providing views of woods and skyline as well as access to a terrace.

The kitchen is open to the great room and includes a dining area plus floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views. The master bedroom has a private bath plus a walk-in and wall closet, while each of the other bedrooms has a walk-in closet. Laundry facilities are located within the residence.

"In planning the decor for this residence, we chose a casual, transitional look that combines clean lines with some traditional curves," Duffy said.

Optima Old Orchard Woods appeals to buyers ranging from professionals to active adults.

Optima Old Orchard Woods will include 665 condominiums in three interconnected 20-story towers.

Each of the three towers has a two-story entrance and one- two and three bedroom residences are available as well as large combination residences and penthouses. Some of the condominiums include sky gardens, which may include terraces and private patios.

The community includes a swimming pool and two spas in a room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the woods, a sun deck, party room, fitness centers in each tower and convenience shopping in two tower.

The community is three blocks south of Old Orchard Road and a block north of Golf Road (Highway 58), six blocks from the four-way interchange onto the Edens Expressway, a mile from the Skokie Swift Station and three blocks west of Old Orchard Shopping center.

Six models are open for viewing and a selection of condominiums is offered for quick delivery.

Special closeout incentives are available on condominiums in Oak and Elm Towers for buyers who can close in 60 to 90 days.

Prices for two-bedroom units in Oak Tower start in the upper-$300,000s. Three-bedroom condos start from the high-$400,000s.

Elm Tower, the second phase, offers plans with two bedroom units from $365,300 and three-bedroom plans from $505,000.

Maple Tower, the last tower to be opened for sales, offers one- two-, three- and four-bedroom residences as well as combination residences with 2,324 to 2,879 square feet.

Prices range from $281,400 for one-bedroom plans; from $348,400 for two-bedroom designs; from $578,000 for three-bedroom condominiums; and from $521,300 to more than $1 million for penthouses ranging from 1,458 to 3,109 square feet.

Combination units ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 square feet are priced at more than $1 million. Move-in dates in Maple tower begin in November and extend through summer of 2008.

Sales are taking place at the Optima Inc.'s, Skokie sales center at 9645 Woods Drive. To visit, take the Edens Expressway and exit at Old Orchard Road, west to Harms Road, south to Golf Road (Route 58), east to Woods Drive, north one block to the sales center.
