Kane County cops seek man accused in home invasion, kidnapping
Kane County sheriff's police are searching for a man accused of kidnapping a 29-year-old Aurora Township woman over the weekend.
The woman was "forcibly taken" from her residence on the 1400 block of Creek Avenue and held against her will for about an hour Sunday night, police said Tuesday. She returned home alone and unhurt to find deputies on the scene investigating a disturbance.
Sheriff's Lt. Pat Gengler said the attack was most likely a "domestic situation and not a random incident."
The Kane County state's attorney's office has authorized felony charges of home invasion, unlawful restraint, kidnapping and residential burglary against Calvin R. Meeks Jr., 38, who remains at large.
Police said Meeks has addresses on the 2300 block of Chandler Court, Aurora, and the 3900 block of Highknob Court, Naperville. He stands just above 6 feet, weighs 230 pounds and was last seen in the Aurora area wearing a black jacket and a black hoodie.
Anyone with information on Meeks' whereabouts is asked to call police at (630) 232-6840.
