Aurora turns on red light cameras
Aurora's first red-light enforcement cameras are now operable at three intersections, launching a 30-day grace period for those who disregard red lights.
Beginning Oct. 20, $100 fines will be mailed to motorists who enter the intersections after the light turns red.
The cameras are recording traffic eastbound on New York Street at Farnsworth Avenue; heading both east and west at New York Street and Commons Drive; and going both north and south at Farnsworth and Molitor.
All three intersections are on the police department's list of the top 30 crash sites.
