Board wrong not to approve hospital

After noting the 3 to 1 vote against the Plainfield Hospital by the Health Facilities Planning Board on Aug. 12, the board is continuing to show their total disregard for the citizens in the A-13 area that includes the village of Plainfield.

Based on the need shown for the number of hospital beds required to adequately serve this area, the board continues to ignore that need. They can't seem to be able to read and / or interpret the guidelines for this calculation.

I am beginning to wonder if they are ignorant or vindictive. It appears that the board is holding the courageous actions of the Edward Hospital representative who wore a wire to prove an attempt at a payoff in earlier attempts to obtain approval for the Plainfield Hospital, against Edward Hospital people and this community. It is way past time to approve this much needed hospital. Here are some options:

1. Legislate the board out of existence,

2. Allow the board's existence to expire (that will take another year.)

3. Somehow get the currently-seated board members fired or dismissed.

If you note frustration in the preceding, you are correct! We need the hospital NOW.
