Aurora man faces child pornography charges

Illinois State Police have arrested an Aurora man on child pornography charges.

Martin Acosta-Ponce, 31, faces three counts of possession of child pornography.

Police say they found evidence of child pornography when they searched a residence on Jan. 11, 2023, in the 1100 block of Bonner Avenue in Aurora.

The state’s attorney’s office in Kane County approved charges Thursday, according to police.

Acosta-Ponce is being held in the Kane County jail while he waits for a first-appearance hearing to determine the conditions of release or pretrial detention.
