GOP should learn from 2008 failure
I use to be an independent voter, but not anymore.
The Bush Administration was an embarrassment to our country. He made too many very bad mistakes, like the invasion of Iraq which cost thousands of American lives and sent billions of dollars over there without any accountability. Most of which went to construction companies, including Cheney who had a few companies there. Isn't that a conflict of interest? Then the initial bailout to big Wall Street companies, without any stipulations, that didn't do anything to stimulate the economy. I wonder why? The Republicans hate paying taxes, but love spending them mostly on subsidies to big corporations or the oil barons that financed their campaigns. Then the wealthiest Americans send earnings off shore to avoid paying taxes. Isn't that illegal?
This last campaign was one of the nastiest the Republicans ever ran. Their strategy was to call President Obama names, and make false insinuations that no one believed anyway. Their campaign rallies were just vicious, as people yelling, traitor, terrorist or lynch him! And Sarah Palin just stood there smiling and nodding. All these people needed were the white hoods to complete the scene. Now the GOP are in California, rallying their troops to sabotage President Obama's agenda, instead of contributing to make it successful. And Rush Limbaugh with his big speech doesn't know the Preamble from the Declaration of Independence. Finally, contrary to what most of you believe, ordinary people are not all idiots or losers. We saw past your tactics and elected Mr. Obama to office.
So, maybe in future campaigns, instead of calling your opponent names and making false accusations, you can stick to the issues at hand. It could make a world of differences.
