Ladies Golf League wants new players

Ladies Golf League is looking for new players. The league plays on Monday mornings starting April 28 at Valley Green Golf Course in North Aurora.

Sign up is from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the golf course, or call Char at (630) 879-2162 or Claudette at (630) 892-7384.

Art for All to hold spring show

Art for All will hold its Spring Show at the Campbell House April 20 to June 1.

An artists reception is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. April 20. Refreshments will be served.

There will be water color and oil paintings, photography, sculpture, pen and ink, and jewelry on display.

Campbell House is a gallery/meeting center on Cherry Lane off Kirk Road in Geneva on the same grounds where the Kane County Cougars play.

Come chat with the artist's and enjoy some Fox Valley artwork. You can also see the artists' artwork at Web site www.artforall-elgin.com.

Firemen plan hot basketball tourney

The South Elgin Police Department takes on the South Elgin and Countryside Fire Protection District in the second annual Battle of the Badges charity basketball game at 7 p.m. April 18 at Kenyon Woods Middle School, 1515 Raymond St., South Elgin.

The basketball game will benefit Special Olympics and the Special Needs Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Grant Program.

Tickets are $4 per person. Tickets are available at village hall, 10 N. Water St., Fire Station 1, 150 W. State St., or at the door.

Raffle drawings will he held for 50/50 cash raffle, and include tickets to Chicago Bandit, Kane County Cougars, Shamrox, or Chicago Wolves and more. Prizes include gift certificates from area restaurants.

Festivities include games, entertainment, prizes, raffle drawings, and a snack bar.

Cheer on your principal and assistant principal in a three-legged race. Wear your school colors to the game and show your support.
