Q&A with Tatooles
1. Why are you running for this office, whether for re-election or election the first time? Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is that? What will be your main priority in office?
To make a contribution to our state government, which is in horrible shape with the Democrat majority doing nothing to help our residents. To give Republicans a greater voice in our state government and hopefully get something done like pass a capital bill.
2. If you are not an incumbent, tell us what contributions you would make.
• Reduce taxes.
• Help pass a capital bill.
• Make education more accessible and affordable to Illinois residents' children.
• Cut unnecessary and wasteful spending.
3. Under what circumstances, if any, would you support raising the state income or sales tax? Please explain.
Only under extremely dire circumstances. Cook County is already the leader in sales tax levies.
4. Do you support the expansion of gambling by adding slot machines at racetracks? Do you favor licensing and building new casinos? Please explain.
No. We have enough gambling already in Illinois. The little guy is the one that gets hurt in this activity, and he is the one that can least afford to play.
5. Would you support giving voters the ability to recall elected officials?
Yes. If officials don't do their job, they should be recalled by the people they are supposed to represent.
6. Did you support the suburban tax increases that were used to keep the public transportation trains and buses running without cuts or fare increases?
I am not an incumbent. Ask my opponent.
7. If you are elected, will you vote for the current party leader of your legislative chamber? Why or why not?
Yes, absolutely. Tom Cross is a dedicated public servant trying to get something done but is ignore by the Democrat leadership. We should work together for the good of Illinois, not our personal interests.
8. What do you think of the idea, widely circulated, of impeaching Gov. Blagojevich?
If it is proven that he has not performed his duties, yes he should be charged with a bill of impeachment.
