Macomb ghost hunting company to offer tours of WIU building
MACOMB -- The best place for ghosts may just be central Illinois.
A Macomb-based company believes the community of about 18,000 people is haunted and plans to offer tours of a 1930s building at Western Illinois University.
A Midwest Haunting has four so-called ghost hunters who hope to find the apparitions.
Believers say Simpkins Hall is the home of "Harold the Ghost" who -- as the story goes -- was a janitor. He's rumored to play practical jokes on people.
The company has offered tours of other buildings in Macomb, but stories about Simpkins Hall drew the company to the university campus.
Co-owner Tim Weaver says ghost hunters look for clues of their ghostly prey on their investigations.
The tours begin March 21st and run for four weeks.
