Weather causes cancellation of I-88 work
The closure of the eastbound ramps from Route 31 to Interstate 88 in Aurora, planned for Friday, has been canceled.
The state tollway authority expects temperatures will be too cold for the paint to adhere on a restriking project between the entrances and the Aurora Toll Plaza.
It has not decided whether to attempt the work Saturday, a spokesman said Thursday afternoon.
The ramps were to be closed to ease traffic congestion at the plaza. The work is necessary to shift eastbound traffic on to the new Fox River bridge east of the plaza.
