War underreported due to media bias

"Where are all the stories on Iraq war?" In a recent Fence Post, reader Jeff Martindale asks why there are so few stories on the military situation in Iraq. Jeff, here's a suggested explanation, hope it helps...

I agree with you that the lack of coverage is "ridiculous," but your reasoning is wrong. What is ridiculous is your theory that the White House has ordered or paid the media to have the military situation in Iraq go unreported.

The liberal bias of the mainstream media should be obvious to anyone who reads daily newspapers or weekly newsmagazines, or watches network news programs. It's very difficult for the media to admit the success of the troop surge in Iraq, with control of Iraqi military and police over the insurgents expanding and casualty rates dramatically falling. And so, the favorable news is simply not reported. You can bet your boots that any setback will receive ample coverage.
