Nalco completes work force reduction

NAPERVILLE - Nalco Holding Co. completed a work force reduction that has eliminated more than 400 jobs at the provider of water-treatment products and services since Oct. 1. The company, which has about 11,500 employees worldwide, said the organizational realignment, of which the job cuts are one element, will generate a pretax charge of about $20 million in the fourth quarter results the company is due to release on Feb. 3.
