"Drive-In Cult Classics 4"
The first drive-in theater opened in 1933, and in 1958, there were more than 4,000 throughout the country. Going to one was a great way to escape, enjoy snacks and watch B movies from the comfort of your car.
This collection of eight films, which retails for $12.98, offers: "The Young Graduates," with Dennis Christopher and Bruno Kirby; "The Van" with Danny DeVito; "Death Machines" with Ron Marchini; "Brain Twisters" with Farrah Forke; "Wild Riders" with Arell Blanton and Alex Rocco; "Don't Answer the Phone" with Nicholas Worth; "Chain Gang Women" with Michael Sterns and "The Specialist" with Adam West.
"Studio One Anthology"
The Studio One series began on radio. Top actors performed 60-minute adaptations of popular plays. With the sponsorship of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, the series moved to television on CBS. From 1948 to 1958, there were 466 episodes produced, and the era would come to be known as "The Golden Age" of television.
The initial release of this great collection includes 17 episodes that have been digitally remastered, and they feature excellent writing, acting and directing. Some of the shows are "Wuthering Heights" with Charlton Heston, "Twelve Angry Men" with Robert Cummings, "Dino" with Sal Mineo, "The Death and Life of Larry Benson" with Lee Remick, "1984" with Eddie Albert and "June Moon" with Jack Lemmon. The six-disc set includes a 52-page reference guide, interviews, featurettes, historical overview and more.
