Briefs: Mundelein clinic rehabbed

The former La Puerta Abierta health clinic in Mundelein has been renovated and reborn as the HealthReach Mundelein Clinic. Located at 109 N. Seymour Ave., the clinic was purchased by HealthReach last year. It was renovated as part of a $1 million partnership with Abbott Laboratories, officials said.

Hainesville coloring contest

The village of Hainesville is sponsoring a holiday coloring contest open to children up to age 12. Coloring pictures are available at the village hall, 100 N. Hainesville Road, or at www.hainesville.org. Entries must be returned to the village hall by 6 p.m. Tuesday. Winners will be notified by phone Dec. 20. Toys R Us gift cards will be awarded to winners in each age group.

Groups get grants

Five Lake County organizations have been awarded technology grants. The AT&T Foundation announced the $52,000 grants Wednesday. Recipients included the Allendale Association, which will receive $20,000 to replace outdated and failing equipment. Others were: Lambs Farm ($15,000) for an upgrade to include high-speed Internet access; Fremont Public Library ($7,000) to expand and improve English as a second language instruction; Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association ($7,000) for Web site redesign and Lake Bluff Firemen's Association ($3,000) for a color printer and scanner.

MHS holds concert tonight

Mundelein High School's Fine Arts Department is presenting its winter concert at 7 p.m. tonight in the auditorium. Admission is free. The concert will feature the Mundelein High School Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble.
