Civil War-era ball planned for Lincoln b-day
SPRINGFIELD -- The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum plans to host a period ball to celebrate the president's birthday this February.
The Springfield museum says the Feb. 12 ball will feature antique instruments, 140-year-old musical pieces for dancing and Civil War-era fashions. Musicians from the 10th Illinois Volunteer Cavalry Regiment Band will perform.
Museum exhibits also will be open for viewing.
The ball is free and open to public, but reservations with the museum are required.
