Writer offers mea culpa
Before all you Constitutional experts correct me for the letter printed in the Daily Herald Jan. 9, I want to explain that the information I looked at was from another source. So the information was incorrect.
The Constitution says under Article 1; Section 6; paragraph 2, "No senator or representative shall, during the time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil office under the authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such times; and no person holding any office under the United States, shall be a member of either house during his continuance in office."
So I stand corrected.
