Illinois politics has removed 'honorable'

On Sunday, Jan 11, I see our honorable Sen. Dick Durbin on television stating "We have to be fair to Roland Burris," which leaves me wondering why do we?

Burris knew exactly what he was getting into. A prominent political appointment by one man who is the pariah of politics at the time.

It is an exceedingly slimy appointment designed to divert some attention from the exposed politically corrupt man making it to the one he appoints. If Burris wants to lay with the dog he can expect to be infested by the fleas on it.

What happened to our "leaders" who had the gut reaction of issuing statements that nobody appointed by Blagojevich would be seated no matter what simply on the principle of the matter? Did the wind direction change? We hear that our proud President-elect made a phone call and all that has now changed?

The cancer of Illinois politics has spread to D.C. and is infecting our entire nation. They have removed the "honorable" portion of the title of Senator.
