Shots fired at school bus; 2 students hurt
Chicago police are interviewing witnesses about a fight that preceded gunfire that hit a Chicago school bus traveling through a West Side neighborhood.
Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford says no children were hit. But the Wednesday morning incident sent two students to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition with minor injuries from breaking glass.
Chicago Police spokeswoman Monique Bond says a third student went to the hospital for observation. All three students have been released. She says the bus was not the intended target. No arrests have been made.
Chicago Public Schools spokeswoman Anitra Schulte says the bus was taking 27 sixth-graders back to Perspectives Charter School's Joslin campus after a field trip.
