Antioch goes 1-1 at Geneva

Antioch's girls basketball team settled for a split Saturday.

The Sequoits began the day by beating Elgin 52-34, as Allie Anttila was the game's only double-digit scorer with 11 points. She also had 3 steals, while Antioch also got contributions from Lindsey Gofron (9 points, 3 assists), Martha Arntson (6 points, 9 rebounds) and Katie Budd (8 points).

The Sequoits then lost to Oswego 60-47.

Brittany Deem scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for Antioch (2-3, 2-2). Lauren Grant and Gofron added 7 points apiece. Gofron, who also had 5 rebounds and 2 steals, was named to the all-tournament team.

Barrington 49, Libertyville 46: At Buffalo Grove, the Fillies outscored the Wildcats 8-5 in the fourth quarter, after the game was tied 41-41 after three.

For the second game in a row, Libertyville (1-4) received 19 points from Kristy Williams in a loss. The Wildcats play Regina at 11 a.m. today at Buffalo Grove.
