Elgin Academy earns win

Elgin Academy 40, Woodlands Academy 25: In the Independent School League the Hilltoppers (4-3, 1-0)defeated Woodlands Academy. Laura Steimle led for EA with 11 points. Alexandria Lee also posted 9 points for the Hilltoppers while teammate Alyssa Pena totalled 7 point.

"It's nice to start off conference 1-0 and we had great play coming off the bench," said EA coach Vicente Pena.

Conant 47, Larkin 20: Jessica Harris led Larkin with 8 points in this nonconference loss at Conant. The Royals (1-6) fell behind 15-1 after one quarter and could never recover.

South Elgin 56, Rolling Meadows 47: Becca Smith scored 16 points and Genevieve Johnson added 13 as the Storm won this nonconference battle with Meadows. Dijon Smith added 9 points for South Elgin.
