Does everyone here really love Obama?
It could be easily argued that Alice Palmer has every reason to loathe Barack Obama.
When Obama was a nobody, the South Side politician took him in and showed him the ropes.
Then in 1996 the future Democratic presidential nominee got her kicked off the ballot by questioning her petitions in his bid for her state Senate seat. She had run for Congress and lost, but allegedly promised Obama he had her blessing to take over her seat.
Well, now Palmer is in Denver for Obama's Democratic convention.
She is attending officially as a pledged Hillary Clinton delegate. She campaigned for her in Indiana during the primaries.
Palmer has largely avoided the media, and did so again Saturday while disembarking from her Amtrak train in Denver.
When asked if she had a minute to talk, Palmer walked off.
No doubt, she will be hounded by a national media looking to see what her feelings are these days. Her former understudy, who some say stepped on her in his rise to power, is on his way to the White House.
