Westell Technologies appoints a new CEO

AURORA - Westell Technologies Inc., a provider of broadband products, gateways and conferencing services, announced that its board of directors appointed Richard S. Gilbert to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Gilbert will join the company on Feb. 23 and will immediately assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations.

He will also serve on the board of directors and will be based at the company's headquarters in Aurora.

Gilbert most recently served as president and CEO of Kineto Wireless, a provider in Unlicensed Mobile Access technology as well as supporting products that are used to enable Fixed-Mobile Convergence.
