A shopping fund-raiser Nov. 6 in Geneva will benefit child abuse victims served by the Kane County Child Advocacy Center.

The event, sponsored by the Friends of Child Advocacy, is open to the public from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Crate & Barrel, 1102 Commons Drive. Admission is $50 in exchange for a $25 store gift card, wine and hors d'oeuvres. The retailer also is donating 10 percent of its sales.

This is the third annual shopping fund-raiser sponsored by the nonprofit group which supports the advocacy center, founded in 1994 to provide programs to Kane County children who are physically or sexually abused.

Reservations are not required but can be made by calling (630) 443-0430 by Saturday.

Tax-deductible donations also are being accepted at Friends of Child Advocacy, 604 Chesapeake Road, St. Charles, 60175.
