Dad was right; Obama's the man
I was born and raised a Democrat. My late father thought that FDR was what this country needed at that time for us to progress.
As a young person, I was inspired by JFK to serve my country. As a young professional, I became a Republican and served many years as a Republican elected official. Twenty years a Democrat, 20 years a Republican. I've been both and they each have enough good, bad and ugly to go around. Since I retired a year ago, I've striven to evaluate things more objectively and look at things differently. I even began calling myself and independent.
Up until the vice presidential debate, I was going back and forth in my mind about who had the best judgment and who we needed to run this country. As the young people text nowadays, "OMG, what are the elephants thinking?" Sarah Palin might be a good local elected official, but she is not ready to be the vice president of the United States and certainly not the President if called upon.
We all should know that you have to answer the question to get it right. Sarah Palin didn't answer the question. I have to seriously question McCain's thought process. I'm not sure he put country first this time.
Obama-Biden is what this country needs at this time. I guess my dad wasn't so far off - if he was still around, he might be saying, "I told you so."
