Bensenville home heavily damaged by fire

A Bensenville home was severely damaged by fire Saturday.

Firefighters called to the 1200 block of Hillside Drive about 6:15 p.m. found smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the frame home and four residents on the front lawn. No injuries were reported.

Bensenville Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Kevin Herrick said the cause and point of origin of the fire was under investigation. No damage estimate was available, although Herrick said the second floor was destroyed and there was heavy fire and water damage on the first floor.
