Police deserve more respect every day
Just wanted to say hooray for Burt Constable's column applauding the police action during the Maday chase last month. It seems, today a lot of people are more interested in the four dirty cops being sentenced than in the work done by the 99 percent of the work done by the good ones.
How many times do you hear, "Oh that jerk cop stopped me for speeding?"
I wonder why. Could it be that you were speeding?
Today so many people, young and old, do not have respect for the police, and that's kind of sad. I remember a time that Jack Webb changed "I'm a cop" on Dragnet to "I carry a badge." That was respect, and maybe we need a little more of that again. So thank you, Burt, for reminding all of us about the great job most policemen and women do for us to keep the world a lot safer.
