BG's girls join showdown at Sears Centre in January
The 11th annual Meijer High School Hoops Showdown will have a new twist on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.
The event is expanding to a triple-header starting with two of the state's premier girls basketball programs in Fenwick and Buffalo Grove at 4:30 p.m.
Northwestern-bound twins Allison and Maggie Mocchi lead four returning BG starters from consecutive Elite Eight trips. Defending Class AA state champion Fenwick has standout sophomore transfer Katlyn Payne from St. Edward.
The Jacobs boys and Northern Iowa-bound guard John Moran will face Fenwick at 6:30 p.m. Batavia and Northwestern-bound Nick Fruendt meets Marshall at 8:30 p.m.
