This outdoor event will be held under a tent, where a band will perform during the evening.

Admission is $10 per person (in advance) or $15 per person (at the door).

What do you think? The Elk Grove Park District is looking into the development of a kids' fitness program for 2008.

Your input at the planning stages of this program is very important to the district, so fill out a short survey at www.elkgroveparks.org.

The Kid's Fitness Center would be designed for children ages 7 to 10 years of age, who'd attend a one-hour session held three times a week for 12 weeks. The class size would be eight children per class. As it stands now, the suggested fee per session would be $225.

Class instructors would be certified personal trainers with specific skills in working with youth regarding exercise and nutrition, district officials said.

The Kid's Fitness Center would have "youth-sized" weight machines and cardiovascular machines.

Kids would be taught the importance of controlling their body weight and body fat. They'd also learn how to set fitness goals and track their progress.
