Armed robbery in Lake Villa

Lake Villa police are investigating an armed robbery at Amber Liquors, 1701 N. Milwaukee Ave. A male in his 20s, wearing dark clothes and a hoodie, pulled a gun on the cashier Wednesday around 9 p.m., Police Chief Ron Roth said. The suspect threw a plastic bag on the counter and demanded the clerk fill it with cash. The suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police said he sped away in a Lincoln Town Car or Chrysler sedan with an Illinois license plate. Anyone with information can call the Lake Villa Police at (847) 356-6106.
