We all owe Dr. King debt of gratitutde

Martin Luther King Jr. did much more than fight for racial equality. He started a series of events that led to equal rights for women, the aged, the handicapped, and gays around the world. People recognized that groups beside racial minorities needed equal protection under the law, such as in discrimination in housing and employment, once that Dr King began his movement. These other groups organized, and through the ballot box, have achieved at last a modicum of equality. All of us, majority and minority, handicapped and whole, male and female, straight and gay, senior and non-senior owe Dr. King a debt of gratitude for what he started and accomplished even after his untimely and tragic death.
