No one hurt after semi flips in Lily Lake

Routes 64 and 47 near Lily Lake were closed for about four hours Monday after a semitrailer toppled over at the highways' intersection. No one was hurt.

Kane County Sheriff's Lt. Pat Gengler said the truck was turning south onto Route 47 from Route 64 about 10 a.m. when it apparently hit a patch of ice, causing its flatbed trailer to overturn.

The intersection was closed until about 2 p.m. while crews worked to remove the truck, which was carrying fencing used for blocking snowdrifts.

Gengler said no citations were issued but the Illinois State Police planned to conduct a routine inspection of the truck.

Information on the driver and the truck owner was not immediately available.
