Can't trees in Glen Ellyn be saved?

Is this true that 340-plus trees are to be cleared for development at 5 Corners in Glen Ellyn? Do we have to take such drastic action? Can't some of the older, bigger trees be saved?

And in light of this economy, wouldn't the village be better served by promoting and filling our downtown with prospective businesses?
