Woman's body found in car trunk

FRANKFORT, Ill.-- Will County authorities are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in the trunk of a vehicle near Frankfort.

Kathy Hoffmeyer, a spokeswoman for the Will County Sheriff's Department, says deputies found the vehicle parked on the side of the road in unincorporated Frankfort Township Friday morning.

Hoffmeyer says she does not know whether the woman, whose identity has not been released, suffered any violence, but she calls the death "suspicious."

The woman's body was taken to the Will County coroner's office, where an autopsy was planned for Saturday.
