Northbrook biotech company moving to South Carolina
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Bridge to Life Ltd., a Northbrook-based biotechnology company is moving its headquarters to South Carolina.
State officials said Wednesday that the move by Bridge to Life Ltd. will create up to 70 jobs in Columbia.
The company expects to invest about $45 million in the move.
The State newspaper reported that Bridge to Life received a $200,000 grant from SCLaunch, a collaborative made up of the state's research universities and the South Carolina Research Authority.
Bridge to Life will sell two federally approved products for storing and shipping human donor organs. John Bruens with Bridge to Life cited the organ transplant expertise at the Medical University of South Carolina that is needed for new product development.
