Grybash to direct BG baseball next year

Buffalo Grove didn't have to look far for its replacement for retiring varsity baseball coach John Wendell.

The Bison chose current varsity pitching coach Jeff Grybash to take over the program next season. Grybash also played baseball and football at Fremd High School and Carthage College.

Grybash was part of Wendell's staff last year when Buffalo Grove won its first sectional championship and made its first Elite Eight appearance.

Wendell is in his 23rd season in charge of the Bison and had a record of 389-293 going into Wednesday's game at Elk Grove. His teams have won four Mid-Suburban League division and four regional titles and have had seven 20-win seasons.
