Bartlett chorus auditions:

The Bartlett International Chorus will hold open auditions at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Victory Centre, 1101 W. Bartlett Road. The chorus practices on Wednesday nights and performs in four-part harmony 12 times a year. Seniors driving class:

Hoffman Estates' Commission for Senior Citizens will host "Rules of the Road" from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, at the Health and Human Services conference room at village hall, 1900 Hassell Road. Enter at the south entrance. The course gives senior citizens a refresher on driving rules. For details or to register, call (847) 781-2606.

Transit program gets grant:

A program in which volunteer drivers pick up senior citizens at their homes and transport them to and from medical appointments throughout the Northwest suburbs has received a $66,000 grant that will fund the service for two more years. Escorted Transportation Service Northwest received a grant from The Retirement Research Foundation of Chicago, that includes the services of a coach, who will help guide the organization's growth. Operating out of the Arlington Heights Senior Center, the program provided service 2,300 times in 2008 and requests a nominal donation for each ride.

Passport fair being held:

The Arlington Heights Post Office, 909 W. Euclid Ave., will host a Passport Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31. Postal Service sales and service associates will help residents with passport applications, fees and photos. Arlington Heights Postmaster Elizabeth Owens emphasizes the importance of bringing the appropriate documentation, a complete list of which can be found at usps.com/passport.
