Lies in congressional district race

Illinois 6th congressional district residents with TVs, the internet or a mailbox are doubtlessly aware they live in one of the mostly hotly contested U.S. House races this year. While both candidates are running no end of negative ads, there's a telling difference between them. Sean Casten's ads highlight Peter Roskam's voting record, with emphasis on his votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act and threaten protections for those with pre-existing conditions. They also point out that the tax law Roskam helped author caps deductions for state and local taxes, resulting in tax increases for many of his own constituents while adding $1.5 trillion to the debt.

Meanwhile, not a single Roskam TV ad mentions the unpopular tax law. Instead, they attempt to portray Sean Casten as a "shady Illinois politician" who is "two sides of the same coin" with Michael Madigan.

Given that Casten has never held or run for public office before and claims to have never even met Madigan, it appears Roskam would rather lie about his opponent than run on his own record.
