Tribute act to do show at saloon

Austin's Saloon will present "A Night with Ron Hawking" at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

The concert will take place in the Fuel Room at Austin's Saloon, 481 Peterson Road, Libertyville.

Gregg Kalboe, production manager at Austin's Saloon, said the show will be a mixture of the performances Hawking is known for.

Hawking is creator, producer and star of "His Way: A Tribute to the Man and His Music," his tribute to Frank Sinatra. It opened at Chicago's Mercury Theater for a six-week run and ended up lasting eight months.

He also does a show called the Art of Impression, a mix of radio and television legends from the 1950s to today, including Casey Kasem and Richard Simmons.

"It's a comedy and a tribute to these people," Kalboe said.

This is Hawking's fourth appearance at Austin's Saloon. He also has performed at New York's Carnegie Hall with the Philly Pops Orchestra and has opened for notables such as Carol Channing, Sheena Easton, Robert Klein and the Temptations.

Tickets cost $40, and advance purchase is recommended. For more information, call (847) 549-1972.
