Music notes: Palatine's Milk N Cooks hit the decks at Durty Nellie's

<h3 class="briefHead">Time for Milk N Cooks</h3>

Palatine twins James and Paul McElwain started playing the decks at the University of Illinois in Champaign before breaking into the Chicago scene as Milk N Cooks. While their house originals and remixes have earned them slots at 2014's Spring Awakening Music Festival and this year's Summer Camp back in May, recent moves have also put them on the national stage. Watch for the upcoming premiere of their "Closer" video featuring Lyon Heart. <h3 class="briefHead">Get a Taste of the T's </h3>

Plain White T's, the alternative rock success story from the Lombard and Villa Park area, is visiting home as part of a national tour when they headline at the Joliet Memorial Stadium during the Taste of Joliet Sunday, June 28. The T's had been playing together for nearly a year when their previously released "Hey There, Delilah" caught fire and launched them to national fame. Libertyville's own Ike Reilly Assassination returns to the suburbs for a hometown show at Mickey Finn's Monday, June 29. Singer-songwriter Ike Reilly and his band ­- featuring the talents of David Cottini, Phil Karnats, Pete Cimbalo and Adam Krier - channel the folksier side of rock 'n' roll with a bit of the blues on their new album, "Born On Fire," which will be available at the show.
