PADS hosts annual 'Winter Harvest'
On Saturday, PADS of Elgin Inc. will host "The Winter Harvest for the Homeless," an annual dinner, dance contest, and auction.
The auction committee is currently collecting items for this year's event, which raises funds to support the operation of the local shelter. Some suggested items for donations are tickets to sporting events, themed gift baskets, bar and grill sets, and original artwork or homemade quilts.
Those wishing to donate to the auction may drop gifts off at the PADS shelter at 1730 Berkely St. in Elgin or call (847) 608-9744 to arrange for pick-up. All donations are tax deductible. This year's event will take place at The Stonegate Conference and Banquet Centre in Hoffman Estates. Ticket cost is $85.
Learn positive side of change, conflict
"Realize the Positive Possibilities of Change and Conflict" is the topic of the new year for the Elgin Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals.
The first meeting of the year will be Wednesday at the Elgin Holiday Inn, 495 Airport Road. Bill Forssander, founder and president of CODA Consulting Group, will speak.
Change is an inevitable, ongoing process that impacts all individuals and organizations. As the pace of change accelerates, so does the need to better understand and manage change in our personal and professional lives.

Kiwanis learn about Senior Services
The Elgin Golden K Kiwanis will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 357 Division St., Elgin.
