St. Charles Heritage Center, library teaming up
The St. Charles Heritage Center recently announced that they will be offering a new series of programs this year in partnership with the St. Charles Public Library.
The Heritage Center Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of March, May, July, September, and November at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave.
Over the course of the year, the group will read five books focusing on local and regional history. The books will be a mix of historical fiction and nonfiction. The first meeting of this new group will take place Tuesday, March 3 and the group will be discussing the book "Abe: A Novel of the Young Lincoln" by Richard Slotkin. Copies of the book are available at the St. Charles History Museum on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no fee to join this group but reservations are appreciated.

The St. Charles Heritage Center operates two historic sites, the St. Charles History Museum and Gift Shop located at 215 E. Main St. and the Dunham-Hunt House located at 304 Cedar Ave. The museum and gift shop are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
