DuPage County to help seniors spot scams
DuPage County officials on Wednesday will host a free informational session aimed at helping seniors avoid scams and fraud.
Representatives from the county’s recorder, treasurer, state’s attorney’s and sheriff’s office will be on hand during the event from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the first-floor auditorium of the county’s administration building, 421. N County Farm Road, in Wheaton.
Seniors and caregivers will learn how to spot common scams, including phone, internet, dating and social media schemes. They’ll also learn about programs designed to protect themselves, their money and homes.
The seminar will be livestreamed on the county’s YouTube channel. The recording also will be available to watch on YouTube following the program.
