Wanna be on 'Glee'?

Eventually the kids on “Glee” are going to have to graduate.

So producers of the hit Fox TV series have begun searching for the next Rachel, Finn, Kurt or even Brittany though there's a good chance they could hold her back for years at McKinley without anyone questioning the ditsy blonde's third senior year.

One of two open casting calls to be on an Oxygen network reality series as well as a possible spot on “Glee” is being held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 18 and 19, at the Chicago Academy for the Arts. Casting director Robert Ulrich will be on hand at the auditions.

Selected performers will be part of a planned Oxygen series called “The Glee Project” where they will compete for a guest-starring role in season three of “Glee.” The popular show was inspired, in part, by co-creator Ian Brennan's years at Prospect High School.

Producers of the Oxygen series said they are looking for “young men and women with strong vocal, acting, dancing abilities and big personalities.” Candidates must be at least 18, “but able to convincingly portray the role of a teenager.” Performers must also be available for a January through April 2011 production schedule and be able to travel.

The Chicago Academy for the Arts is located at 1010 W. Chicago Ave. For more information about the audition, visit thegleeproject.oxygen.com.
