Lottery for ballot placement:

Lake Zurich Unit District 95 have announced a lottery on Dec. 21 at 4 p.m. to determine ballot placement for candidates on the April 5 election.

The lottery is necessary because three candidates running for seats on the school board Tony Pietro, Chris Wallace and Jim Burke filed nominating petitions simultaneously Monday.

Pietro and Burke are incumbents. Members of the community are welcome to witness the lottery, which will take place at the administrative offices of the district at 400 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich.

The filing period continues through the close of business on Monday, Dec. 20.
