Stephen F. Austin routs Chicago State 94-38
NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Jereal Scott scored 17 points Saturday night as Stephen F. Austin routed Chicago State 94-38 in the Lumberjack Classic.
The Lumberjacks opened up a 10-2 lead on the Cougars, then after Chicago State made it 13-7, Stephen F. Austin (6-2) ran off 16 straight points to lead 29-7 with 7:22 left in the first half. It was 41-14 at halftime.
Scott scored his 17 points in just 19 minutes. Three other Lumberjacks were in double figures. Amos Olatayo had 12 points, Brandon Cutler 11 and Denzel Barnes had 10 points, eight assists and three steals.
Jonathon Montgomery scored 13 points for Chicago State (2-9), which had more turnovers than rebounds (26-24). The 56-point margin at the end of the game matched the night's highest.
