Ind. theater takes baby's sippy cup
PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- The owner of a northern Indiana movie theater says an attendant who confiscated a toddler's sippy cup was protecting the theater's profits.
Showland Cinema owner Dave Kinney says the Plymouth theater has self-service refills for people who purchase a drink. He tells the South Bend Tribune that some parents have taken advantage of the policy by using their children's sippy cups to get free soft drinks.
Carrie Brewer of North Judson says she brought the sippy cup to keep her child quiet during the movie "Tangled," and when he cried for the cup the attendant told her she could buy him a drink at the concession stand.
Brewer says she got the cup back after the movie but plans to visit more family-friendly theaters in the future.
