Ignoring problems won't make them go away

Republican Keith Pekau reminds me of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast from the planet Traal. It thinks that if you can't see it, then it can't see you; so if you just cover your eyes and pretend it's not there, you won't be harmed. Just like the Bugblatter problem, Keith apparently thinks that if we ignore America's problems then they won't affect us.

Democrat Sean Casten understands the huge, complex problems that America must not ignore. If we do, democracy and indeed our existence as a country could easily die. He highlights them and offers potential avenues to successfully address them on: energy & climate policy; women's & reproductive rights; veterans' well-being; racial justice; gun safety; voting rights; immigration reform; LGBTQ rights; quality, unbiased education; good jobs in strong economy.

So for 6th Congressional District representative, you can vote for a Republican bugblatter-brain who will continue to ignore problems as they get worse. Or, you can vote for Sean Casten, a climate scientist and clean energy engineer who was CEO of a cutting-edge climate technology corporation. Who recognizes America's problems and is making distinctive contributions to addressing them.

But unless you do vote, you might as well be voting for the bugblatter.

Before Election Day on Nov. 8, you can register and vote early by mail or at early voting locations.
