Historic Preservation Commission to Review Revised Historic Preservation Ordinance on Thursday, December 9
The City of Naperville's Historic Preservation Commission will review the revised Historic Preservation Ordinance during its regular meeting on Thursday, December 9, 2010. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in Meeting Rooms B and C of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. The revised ordinance is now available on the city's website at www.naperville.il.us/preservation.aspx.
The ordinance was initially presented during a public open house on Thursday, November 18. The revised ordinance includes input from the Historic Preservation Commission as well as the public.
On May 19, 2009, the Naperville City Council approved a unified recommendation which proposed comprehensive revisions to the city's Historic Preservation Ordinance; the Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) review process and standards; and the commission membership, mission and scope. The revised Historic Preservation Ordinance codifies the changes approved through the unified recommendation and includes clarified and improved language to enhance the applicability and user-friendliness of the code.
