Allstar Rebels team takes cheer honors

On Nov. 20-21, Allstar Rebels competed at Jamfest LIVE one of the largest cheer competitions in the Chicago area, and one that plays host to some of the toughest competitors in the sport of All-Star Cheerleading.

This two-day competition held at the Schaumburg Convention Center gives the participants the star treatment with the cheerleaders taking the stage by walking the red carpet to their own theme music.

Keeping with the LIVE concept, competitors are told within minutes if they are currently in first place and are then whisked off to their very own Leaders Lounge complete with sofas and a DJ. Allstar Rebels Hooligans (Tiny Level 1) and Renegades (Large Senior Level 3) made their presence known by taking their spot in the Leaders Lounge. This is the second year that the Hooligans been in the lounge. Following the Hollywood-inspired theme, LIVE also gives out specialty awards like Standout Performance which were given to two Allstar Rebels cheerleaders, Natalie Stipati and Katlyn LaCroix, as well as Memorable Music Compilation Renegades and Off the Hook Tumbling Mavericks.

But it wasn't all about the competition this time around for Allstar Rebels. In honor and support of another cheerleading facility, Midwest Cheer Elite in Ohio, which in a recent car accident lost a parent and had four others injured including three of their cheerleaders, the Allstar Rebels cheerleaders had a memorial banner that they carried up onstage and wore stars on their faces in Midwest's team colors. They also had a large banner available for others to sign and will be sending both banners to Midwest.

“I would be devastated if something like this were to happen to one of my families and I felt it was important to let them know that others within the cheer world are wishing them well,” said owner Matt Paraday.

Results from Jamfest LIVE 2010 include: Maniax Mini Level 1 – Exhibition, Hooligans, Tiny Level 1, first place; Renegades, Senior Level 3, first place; Aces, Mini Level 2, second place; Mavericks, Youth Level 2, eighth place; Desperados, Junior Level 2, fourth place; Gangsters, Senior Level 4, third place; and Rockstarz, Senior Level 5, third place.
