Team members at Naperville’s Monarch Landing take on the snowpocalyse

The weather outside was truly frightful, but inside Monarch Landing senior living community in Naperville, everything remained delightful.

During 2024’s first significant snowfall which was closely followed by freezing temperatures, residents were safe, cozy, entertained, and well-cared for because of the dedicated staff of Monarch Landing.

“Monarch Landing management and staff always take good care of us! That remained the case during the recent snowmagedon,” said Pati Saulig, a resident of Monarch Landing. “We were warm, fed, and as busy as we wanted to be. In addition, we were thankful we didn’t have to worry about clearing snow, chipping ice or thawing frozen pipes.”

Problems reported in the Naperville area during the lousy weather included a shortage of plows, burst water pipes, dangerous icy conditions and treacherous roads.

Despite what was happening throughout the area, “as is usually the case, life was all good at Monarch Landing!,” Pati said.

Leadership at Monarch Landing arranged for meals and overnight accommodations in guest apartments at the senior living community so staff wouldn’t need to travel to and from work.

“The employees really stepped up to the plate, as always, to ensure that we were fully staffed and running smoothly,” said Mark Trnka, executive director. “We are really grateful for and appreciative of our team.”
